Our Farm Favorite: The Hibiscus of the North
We have been growing Lavatera on our farm for more than 10 years, and it never fails to leave us in awe. What makes this variety so special is all parts of the Bloom (petals, pollen, and stigma) are different shades of pink.
If you love the look of the tropical Hibiscus but need something easy to grow, this is the plant for you. It is a tough, disease-resistant variety. We plant ours directly in the ground for a sea of pink from mid-summer through late August.
How to grow: for best visual impact, plant them in groups to mimic the look of a flowering shrub, or line them up to create a vibrant garden border. The are also excellent cut flower!
